Pickpockit is a video delivery app that allows advertisers to insert contextual ads into video. Like an actors shoes? Tap on them and find out what they are and where to buy them. Despite its novelty, it has entertained a consistant user-base and boasts high click-through rates. While the app itself was developed by another talented programmer (Clancy Imislund), I was in charge of everything server-side.
Built in Python on cloud infrastructure, servers scale independently to deliver video content to thousands of concurrent users. In addition to building server API’s as the sole back-end developer and sys admin, I developed a simple dashboard for advertisers to analyze click metrics. Screenshots of early builds of the app and metrics back-end below. I’ll update these shots to something more recent when I get a chance.
